SITUATION
A Daly City, CA water main delivering water from a hilltop tank to a second holding facility needed repair.
CHALLENGE
Running under a dense growth of trees, the water main proved difficult to access. Conventional open trench methods would require extensive clearing and destruction of the trees.
SOLVED
SAK used trenchless cured-in-place pressure pipe technology to repair the main without disturbing the surrounding environment. The work revealed a short piece of pipe beneath the tank that also needed repair. Empowered to address problems on the spot, the SAK crew devised a solution using materials on hand and completed both aspects of the job on time. Daly City leaders were thrilled with SAK’s fast, efficient, and long-lasting results.
