Jack Boatman Sr. Vice President of Government Affairs and Melva Pete, Vice President of Human Resources recently attended the National Forum for Black Public Administrator’s (NFPBA) annual conference in Orlando, FL. SAK is a proud supporter and sponsor of the NFBPA Executive Leadership Institute Commencement and Scholarship luncheon.
The NFBA Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) is a professional development program for management-level state and local government public administrators. ELI candidates participate in a rigorous seven-month development program that offers a curriculum of academic based theory and practitioner experience that prepares them for executive-level positions in the public sector.
SAK sponsored a $1500 scholarship in recognition of Jack Boatman, and his continuing dedication and commitment to the professional development and advancement of African Americans and other minorities in the public sector. The SAK/Jack Boatman scholarship is for college students majoring in construction management, engineering, or a related field with an interest in pursuing leadership roles in the public sector. The scholarship was awarded to Jasmine Gay, an engineering student attending Florida State University.
